I Won

Randy Hernandez

The race began before I was born
My parents cheering for nine months long
Reaching the goal and breaking the cord
Crying and screaming was my first song
Out of so many others, I made number one
My prize for winning was being the son
Of lovers whose job was so well done
I stand here today as proof that I won
