The Lord will lift you up

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Wait till you receive his power
Yahweh sends his best
Out into his vineyard
All of those who pass the test
He sends some at the break of day
And sends some more at nine
He goes out into the marketplace
And sends all that he finds
And then he sends some more at noon
Still more at three and five
He sends all those who want to serve
And gives them brand new lives

Our God does not discriminate
He pays them all the same
It doesn’t matter when they’ve come
It matters that they came

So now you have this simple truth
About those who follow Jesus
That if we’re in the marketplace
Then we know he will seize us
He’s taken captives in his train
And given gifts to men
He doesn’t care when they arrived
He just loves all of them
So, if you’re feeling broken
And like you cannot get up
Just lift your hands to heaven
And the Lord will lift you up
