Joy in the Midst

I’ve let doubt rule my mind.
Tossed to and fro in the sea.
Not knowing up from down.
Forgetting I’ve been set free.

I panic in this violent storm.
As the enemy looks to shipwreck my faith.
Will I rely on my own provisions?
Will I remain afraid?

Father, I believe Your Word.
That fear is a lie!
I choose to count this as joy!
As You gather the tears I cry.

I will cast my cares to You alone.
Holding firm to what I believe.
I am trusting You are my Anchor of hope
And that one day, I WILL see relief.

I don’t want to gain this world,
But the crown of life You purchased at the cross.
Everything here will pass away.
So I count it all as loss.

The enemy wants to steal my joy
And I cannot endure alone.
So I learn to trust You, Jesus.
And one day, look upon Your throne!

About this poem
