More Difficult The Task

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

More difficult it has become,
Performing the same task repeatedly done.
With attempts to have mistakes made,
Placed to claim blame to put on others.
Others usually selected and picked,
For the obviousness of their ethnicity.
Appearance in looks and so on.
In the hopes to use as scapegoats.

So tired is this approach,
Used by the folks...
Provoking themselves,
Into an unchallenged bout with ignorance.

And...
Becoming confused,
By those suspiciously combative.
Those refusing to be accused...
Of a doing they have proof,
Those making allegations against them...
Are, in fact,
The culprits captured in videos and pictures.
Downloaded and sent,
To every social media outlet.
Including the ones,
The Devil must have given them consent...
To strip.
With a getting down and funky,
Nowhere on Earth has been seen like this!
Not with such disastrous public exposure.

'This...
Proof,
You say you have...
Is not only a misrepresentation,
Of our high standards and valued principles.
But also leaves a blemish that keeps...
Our moral and wholesome religious integrity,
Clinging onto the edge of jeopardy.
Left...
Always,
From this day forth be questioned.
Microscoped and...scrutinized!'

'Oh...
Fantastic.
Wonderful.
Outstanding.
Astonishingly brilliant.
And...
Well crafted.'

'Please.
Your applause and standing ovation,
Mocks who we are as a great nation.
A nation,
Under God!
And...
Indivisible.'

'I apologize.
For speaking out of order.
But...
Your Honor?
Should justice be,
Visible or left invisible for all?

'I had never thought of it that way.
Not at all.
That decision I will deliberate,
After I review all of the evidence.
Privately in my office.
Meaning...
Details, and every sickening filth of it.
And...
If the need arouses an urgency,
To extend the time taken?
That announcement I will make.
Meaning...
No knocking or attempt to unlock,
My chamber door.'

'Your Honor?
You stated AROUSES an urgency.
Should that error be corrected to ARISES?'

'What comes first?
The chicken or the egg?
I say...
Omelets?
Yes.
Scrambled?
No.'

'I...
Huh?'

'Either way,
You can trust me to have...
My hands on the bottom of this.
If it takes unreasonable time,
To do it and at my satisfaction reached!'
