The Irony of Life.

Kennedy Mwangi 1998 (Nairobi)

I went for a walk the other day and saw how people were living,
Some were pretty miserable but some people were indeed thriving,
Some guys were out partying while others were out there striving,
Some people were just walking but there was a lot of people driving,
I noticed that when others were resting some were very busy hustling,
Old men were in bars drinking while young men tried to make a shilling,
Older women were in spas with their peers drinking wine and gossiping,
Some people seemed to have life in order while others were barely living,
To some life was amazing but to others it was just brutal and unforgiving,
While some are just enjoying there are those who sadly are simply dying.

About this poem

Life is complicated. It's unfair to some and quite smooth to others. The irony of this life that we are living.
