Life’s Breath

Chad Brocato 1967 (Florida)

May 22

The fragile out from womb;
Unaware of the solemn tomb;
Living life from first breath;
Amid the looming risk of death.
Grand first steps on soft grass;
Others under did prior pass;
Running later without fear,
But soon clinging to life so dear.
So our time doth run so quick,
A candle burning with shortest wick.
The flame that fueled life’s course,
Flickers out without remorse.
Make it count from first to last,
Before it lies within the past.
