Mannequin in a store front window

Mannequin in a store front window
Lifeless frozen
Without strings or puppet master
Looking out as if looking in

Through the Still quietness of the day
Behind the framing glass
With coal black eyes
Looked deep within mine to my very soul

Alone walking silently
On a small but empty street
I came upon a small deserted town
Walking alone on a lonely street
I passed an empty shop
A store front widow made up
With minimal delight

A single mannequin standing to the side
Looking out the reflected pane
Straight into my eyes straight into my soul

Suddenly I dreamt it to be me
Looking out behind the window pane
Locked within that frame
