Day after tomorrow

Day after tomorrow

In the ghostly silence of its deadly quiet
I roamed its empty streets
Through its soft grey carpets of dust
In its depths of still like streets

Dream like déjà vu  feelings
Surreal unlike what is known
All in its muted tones of grey

De Chirico dreamlike silence
In  Post apacoliptic cemetary
Of another world
I walked the street alone

Twisted steel  reminents  remain
through Acidic dusty scented air
which one could never forget
dust covered plastered
city scapes and windows
through the narrow lanes I walked

quiet  empty and so still
within the deafening silence
of muted filtered soft grey light
sifts through between the dusted walls
as a walk within a dream
in a requim of sadness

I heard a church bell ring
its echo's through the inner soul
and slowly faded away
into the distance
of our memories
