Potential

Poe and Frost had it with "The Raven" and "Fire and Ice."
The farmer's wife had it when she cut of the tails of the mice.
Some people have it and some people do not.
You don't have to be famous to present your own thought.
Open your mind and let it flow.
Write it down and let it show.
If you get blocked, walk away, but don't let it rot.
Come back when you get it, let us see what you've got.
You don't need to be famous to bring light to the world.
All you need is a thought to get it uncurled.
If you have a thought, you have potential.
So get some paper and get a pencil.
Bring them with you; morning, noon, and night.
If you have some thoughts, you should write.
Whether you know it or not, you have potential.
Your writing doesn't have to be presidential,
For it to be existential and influential.
Whatever you think is essential,
To make your story quintessential,
Will show the world, you want to reach your full potential.
