Are You Feeling?

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

I hate to think about how you are feeling
I look to the sky and talk to the ceiling
As of this moment I don’t have an answer
As soon as I do we’ll cut out this cancer

Its going to hurt; I’m not going to lie
I want you to suffer so much that you cry
I wish that I could see pain on your face
Instead of blank stares as you look into space

I didn’t notice before, you don’t smile a lot
But I bet there’s a smirk as you’re hatching a plot
You put on a mask I couldn’t see through
All the sorrow you cause will come back to you
