Gus

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

I am the one that Jesus loves!
The one true son of God above!
So why aren’t you adopted yet?
Does not the Lord call you His pet?

The answer is He loves you too!
And we all know God’s heart is true!
So why aren’t you adopted yet?
And cast off sin with no regret!

Did He not give His life for you?
And by His sacrifice make you new!
We love because He first loved us!
Is that not yet clear to you Gus?

It’s God in us, then we in Him!
He teaches us how we should swim!
Not with the tide, but against the current!
His love for us is real and certain!
