Tired of these sleepless nights

Tired of these sleepless nights
While dealing with these drug-induced fights
Tired of the cravings on the daily
Shit’s been driving me crazy lately
Just want to go back to knowing me
With all the potential that will be
Put this work all into good use
With my addiction I refuse to lose
Can’t go back to the meth man I was
Cause I’m fighting for a stronger cause
Got my friends, my family most of all my life
What better reasons to start this fight
The fight for everything that is gonna be
Hard work will be all that you see
It’s either that or the same life I had before
Drugs are like the neighborhood whore
Once we all had our time to try
Then get mad and start to cry
When they gave us something we don’t want
Except it’s our souls that it will haunt

Zachary Carson

I am a 22 year old male and I struggle with addiction. I've been writing poetry since I was young and it has always been a passion of mine. All I hope to do is inspire others and hope somewhere out there my poems can help others going through similar situations more…
