Shadows

He was lurking around the corner last night
I felt him peeking just over my shoulder
Startled, I dashed away, while screaming in fright
As the cool night progressively got colder
He moved in the darkness, just out of my sight
And as time went on, he got even bolder
When I turned in the darkness, the street was bare
But in the light, only my shadow was there
