Dark-Moist Winding Upwards
Shades drawn on cavern walls
Names etched on Mother’s womb
Spider spins glorious
~In liminality~
Iridescent cloaks
Underground rivers mist
Spray pirouettes rays
Similitude frenzies features
Surface reflects inward
Attentiveness impels life-force
Lumen and dark enter soles
Moist light and dark-moist
Pirouetting rays and spray
Hitched to cave-rivers
Driving upwards
Inward still driven
Racing chariots
Through veins and systems
Nervous flutters
Curdle into soothing belly
Soothsayers twice
Swan or song
Shifts into fecundity
Holding, supporting and nourishing
About this poem
As if in preparation for posting this poem tonight, I have been thinking a bit about the Container, the one who is Holding the Tension as some refer to it as, a quite impossible feat in many instances. An accomplishment that barely receives recognition for the invaluable outcomes it achieves, such as peace amongst warring tribes, the opportunity for personal growth to transpire when otherwise a brutish argument might ensue, and so on. And, then, wouldn’t you know, that while downloading all of my photos from Flickr because their brand new website has made editing my Albums or Photos, singularly or as a group impossible for no editing icon ever appears and so I was forced to delete the account, I would run across a series of rocks and boulders all Holding/Containing sea water or rainwater. How appropriately worded is the last line? Call it what you will…groovy is my choice. more »
