Lost and Found
What piece is this?
What’s gone amiss?
For all we know we’ll soon remiss
Someone somewhere must be worried.
Surely now they must be hurried.
It looks expensive
And oddly pensive
And now I’m feeling apprehensive
Perhaps this thing is truly mine?
At least until they come to find…
Don’t look that way!
It's here to stay !
They left it here and here it lay.
I’m sure to them it's just a bother
It came to be from God the Father…
Look…I had one once when I was young.
And when they took it, heart stung.
It seems as though I’ve had it all.
I laugh as though I’ve had a ball.
But, somewhere down and deep inside,
I’ve known my heart cannot abide.
Now I know that I have lied.
And though my child has truly died,
It's heaven where he’ll now reside.
So, yes, I’ll rest this little one.
I know he’s loved and I am done.
My pain subsides, it’s had it's fun.
And though I wait ‘till race is run,
I miss you so my little son.
