Yet again I
Find myself
Bewildered, forced
To shift the
Potential energy
Away from myself –

Despite how
Much I care –
And I really
Do, I swear –
I cannot sink
Deeper, ever deeper

Back into the
abyss, where I
So often find
Myself hoping
For things
Impossible.
