The Many Faces Of Hypocrisy

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

If a doing is justified.
And publicly amplified.
Victimized to defend their misdeeds,
Are the culprits.

However...
If one is determined to sit.
Taking thrown nonsense.
And tolerating this with patience?
The strength of that person,
Is regarded as a weakness.
Leaving no one,
To come to their defense.

But blamed they are to claim them cowards.
By the very ones,
Charading to masquerade...
The many faces of hypocrisy to display,
Pretensions faked to imitate appropriateness.
Depending upon which way the wind blows.
And who it is that approves,
Every move they make to refuse or accept...
Whichever side satisfies a popularity given.
