Delight in me Jesus

You wrote a love letter to us Lord,
But You’re so much more than a letter!
God is Spirit and He is Truth,
To a lie I will not be fettered!

It’s not the man, who knows Your word,
Or has memorized its content,
But the man who’s heart is changed by it,
He’s the one that You delight in.

There’s no way we can help You, Lord;
We just have to wait and see!
All of the wonders and glorious things,
You’ll do for You through me!

The Scriptures must all be fulfilled,
In just the way they’re written!
And we can’t be a willing tool,
Unless with You we’re smitten!

The teachers say it’s not a feeling,
Just a deep commitment,
But if You don’t make me cry and weep,
Then it’s not as it’s written!
