Jesus is Watching

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The eye of God is upon the earth
And it has been since the day of its birth.
I bow down Lord so you can see
The heart you’ve placed inside of me.

The heart of flesh and not of stone,
No longer desiring to be alone.
I call to you and cry aloud;
My God I am no longer proud.

Forgive me Lord for I have sinned,
My confession goes as I begin.
I love you Abba, my Father, my God;
I know that I deserve the rod.

So, punish me I know you must,
My Lord it is in you I trust.
Please show your mercy and saving grace,
That I may not live in disgrace.

To you I come with open arms
To find your love and not be harmed,
Forever in you, you forever in me,
O Lord you know this is my plea.
