Glory to God

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Though hills and mountains rule the land
The harvest is in the valleys
The rich and prosperous won’t come in
We find our friends in alleys

We find them beaten; broken down
Like worthless fruit left on the ground
But we can lift them up again
In heaven we’ll have lots of friends

Give to the poor; lend to the Lord
God’s faithful he’ll repay you
Then you’ll have an abundant life
His blessings won’t betray you

Abundant life is knowing God
And Jesus Christ his glory
To walk with him and see his face
And hear all of the stories

I’m afraid that this might take awhile
So, don’t make any plans
Just sit still and rest a little while
Right here in his hands
