The Window

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

It’s good to watch the corn grow
See the wheat and barley sprout
Unless you’re just in so much pain
That all you want is out

When you can’t enjoy the scenery
Because the road’s too rough
And you can’t wait to get back home
Because you’ve had enough

Remember Jesus loves you
He won’t leave you here alone
He went to build a place for you
He’ll come to bring you home

And then when time has reached its end
And all the clocks stop ticking
You’ll find you’re in eternity
You’ll eat the fruit you’re picking

No more pain and no more sorrow.
You’ll be home before tomorrow!
