Shadows and rippled reflections

Standing by the lake
Between his shadow
And his reflection .
Now he is in search,
For instant escape.
He needs to differentiate
Where his shadow starts
And how far is his reflection
From the bottom of the lake.
Is it only himself he can  hear,
Or is he  neither far nor near.
Lost in an inner search,
Beyond anyone’s reach and salvation
In darker depths,
than his vivid imagination.

About this poem

It is difficult to comprehend the three parts of interrelation between thoughts, shadows and reflections. How to fathom the depth and the duration, and mark the real from what is only imagination.
