I Chase After Me

I chase after you
So does everyone too
You’re what life’s about
Me and everyone else’s, no doubt
To have you is to be full
To have you is to rule
Full in all that we truly are
Ruling life’s skies as a star.

I chase after you
Who am I? Tell me who?
I am you and you’re me
Except you I fail to be
You’re potential, my own
In you, my purpose is known
You’re my potential, my life’s song
And I’ve chased you far too long.

I chase after you
What else can one do?
To touch greatness all
And escape living small
What else can one do?
Simple, and it’s just these two
It’s to make you our great goal
And chase you with a solemn soul.

I chase after you
Without you, where else to?
You give strength to hope
My grit and reason to cope
I know you, I know my shape
So beautiful, all day I gape
You’re my meaning, this I see
And so it is I chase after me.
