Push Forward

kelly reagle 1983 (Breinigsville)

Push Forward
Life is like a rollercoaster with the ups and downs and spin arounds.
Life has its’ twists and turns, then somehow your life burns.
Good people do good, and then out of the blue they are hit in the head by a piece of wood.
When this happens, they tend to stop or freeze in their tract.
This is how the world around us wants us to react.
We need to stand up for ourselves and push forward no matter how hard the situation is.
Push forward through all the thick and thin things that are trying to hold us back.
Start pushing forward as if you were running on a track.
Life is too short to be down and out over things you cannot control.
It’s funny because I must tell myself this everyday to play this role.
You see, somehow the world tries to mess with everyone in some way, including myself.
All we can do moving ahead is push forward.

About this poem

I have been through a lot being a single mom. I have learned how to control the world around me, and not have the world control me.
