Romance Novels

Is it a sign of weakness to wish,
A wanting to be tightly hugged.
And touched with lips to kiss.

Or held to feel protected.
In the arms holding close.
Felt to feel,
The heating of passion.
Burning to build,
Into a fire of desire.
Never to forget the moment...
The pleasure of complete,
Undenied satisfaction had.

Turning a page of life.
With each chapter moving faster,
As one grows older...
Stepping away,
From one stage to another.
Yet not to have experienced,
The blooming from a bud.
That has long passed the blossoming?

Is the one more likely to become,
Awaiting to anticipate...
Something delivered to them done.
And yet...
When that opportunity came to come,
Not once.
But several times to dismiss,
A love to have it easy to get.
Given.
But gone to go unrecognized.
To know it shown.
Or accept what it was.
Since the value of it,
Had not been thought as a treasure.

'May I ask you a question?'

'Sure.
Go right ahead.'

'You have been married and divorced,
Twice. Right?'

'Uh...
Yes.
Why you ask?'

'And...
You seem happy.
Is your happiness real?'

'I...
Believe it is.
Although I must admit,
There were times I missed...
Arguing over nothing.
Slamming doors and leaving aggravated.'

'Tell me...
How can I detect,
If someone's love for me...
Is real when it is expressed.'

'Are you open to hear,
What I would recommend and suggest?'

'Yes.
Yes I would.'

'Leave your home.
And stop reading romance novels.'

'How did you know I do that?'

'After midnight,
I hear you moaning for God and Quincy.
Who is Quincy?
The main character?'

'I...uh...well...I...'

'I can not promise this.
However...
I am willing to bet,
If you leave your home...
You will meet your Quincy.'

'I am so embarrassed.'

'Hey, don't be.
But whatever you do,
Avoid being desperate.
There was a time I thought,
Paying to say 'I do'...
Was enough to reach out and touch,
Whatever I wanted whenever I wanted it.
But today?
Young or old...
Folks are out there,
Giving it away.
As if it is the latest fad.'

'You're kidding?'

'Did you not ask,
If my happiness is real?
And free.
Without a dime to pay for it.
Or magazines to flip though,
To keep me uplifted!'

'Do you...
Drink coffee or tea?'

'Huh?
Me?
I am ambidextrous.
And a closeted vegetarian!'

'WHAT?'
