I Suppose

I suppose this is it.
I have reached my limit.
These thoughts inside my head,
Are leading me astray.

I no longer know,
Where it is I need to go.
Trace these scars upon my skin.
A road map of where I could've been.

Am I as tainted as they say?
Take a look at these tattoos
And tell me what you see.
When you get to the end,
Could you still recognize me?

A guillotine waits.
A step or two is all it takes.
The weight upon my shoulders,
Lessen as I make way.

I suppose this is my stop.
My heart is racing.
What exactly is this?
It's paralyzing.

You pulled me up from the ground.
And in that moment,
My death was delayed.
You took one look,
And saw right through everything.

I suppose this is it.
A love I swear,
I don't deserve.

About this poem

It wasn't originally a Valentine's Day kind of poem, but it is what it is.
