waiting for the Doctor

Sitting in the exam room
Waiting for the doctor.
Just being here
I feel better already.
I’m sure it’s nothing.

He’ll say “”Cut down the bourbon
And get more exercise.”

The carpet is unobtrusive
The walls are painted a soothing blue

The diplomas on the wall
Tell me this guy
“Knows his stuff.

 But,The skeleton in the corner
Says,”Doesn’t matter

You’ll look just like me soon enough”.
