Today

Eric Barr 1951

Today is the first day of the new year
Today is the first day of the rest of my life
Or
Today is one day closer to my death.

It depends on my perspective.

Today is Saturday
Today there are so many  things to do,
Today I should accomplish something.
Today could be the day I finally get it right.

Today the pine trees are green
Today the air is fresh
Today the sky is blue

Today is the perfect day to spend all day doing
Nothing with you.
