Stray Cat
In the early afternoon when the clouds cast gloom,
a cat jumped in my yard and roamed.
Later, it stayed put at a corner staring at me.
As I noticed it, I stared back at it unblinkingly.
It lasted a while until I took back my stare willingly.
Then, it turned its back at me and walked away gently.
I just followed a look where it strolled.
Without a destination, the cat seemed to enjoy
wandering from place to place forever more.
