Again in the dark and all alone
With only words that echo in
the Devil's tone
Yells and shouts that are shot
out without a doubt
And the love and strength to pull through
Shot like an arrow through your
heart
Words that pound and tear
you apart
Pierce stings and verbal threats
that streak through your mind
But are just said
With words kicking you in the ribs
Knowing someone loves you
Pushes you to live
Though in the end the wounds do mend
The words are only spoken
They are only said

Mary Helen Trujillo was born April 16, 1987, in Denver CO. She is a long-time writer and lyricist, recently published. Though she wears many hats, having gone to school for automotive technology, being an emergency medical dispatcher for over a decade, a mother, daughter, friend and wife, her love for writing and healing through poetry remains strong and deeply rooted.
