Puzzle Pieces

We press the vein of intellect
as we tear apart to scatter all the pieces
of the puzzle we think we fit
discontented with the picture our expectations can't create
seems we always want some other thing
but we just don't know what it is
searching each others lives
for some kind of a chord
and if it ain't the tune we want
then guilt is our best retort

Answer, answer, answer
seems to me we're always looking for
we always want an answer
to what everything is for
we forget about the stars above
we don't see the miracle
the answer we want is always here
the question is in how do we respond

It won't change
of that there is no doubt
abuse is just too easy
when it's delivered from behind a mask
we always find excuses
to excuse our usury
we always find some way to explain
the weapon of another persons pain

No nothing has been easy
nothing has been straight
nothing has been truthful
that's how I feel of late
there's always a contrary story
another narrative to appease
these stranger quirks
these narcissistic endangerment's
to bring us to our knees
always in the end we only have to pretend to agree

A fake kiss of life
the falsehood of its goodnight
one more casual smile
one more turns the page of an endless lie
one more betrayal of where the heart
and its embrace should be
all the emotions do not tell
as we press the veins of rationality
rip apart the pieces
of a puzzle we think we fit
irritated by the picture our expectations can't create
