You just wait sunshine

I’ve seen people rise to the top and fall from grace,
I’ve seen my hero lose race after race.
I still believe that one day he will again win,
I will continue to do so, even if it’s a sin.

There’s nothing I love more than a story where the hero rises back to the top after hitting rock bottom,
like the leaves on a tree that grows back after the autumn.
It’s been years, he still hasn’t lost his charm,
I would hug him if he was close enough to my arm.
He still congratulates others and smiles through the pain,
you would know how great he is if you saw him drive in the rain.

He has only ever bowed down before the Austrian Bulls,
they gave him wings and he flew with them,
he gave them everything and became four times champion.
He drove for the Italians in red, like his hero did,
haven’t had the best years, but he is still the wonderkid.
He drives now for the British team, dressed in green,
to see him win once more is my only dream.

Why not? Why can’t he win again?
It’s not a matter of if but when.
His hero did, why can’t mine?
He will. You just wait sunshine
You just wait sunshine.
