Blue

Baby Blue
I don’t remember exactly when I first saw blue
It was the blue of the ocean hue
The smell of the oyster dew
As I slept in my crib with bottle too

Powder Blue
Or then it could be my shirt right clean
As I stood in line with my powder blue jeans
For a cafeteria meal of lo-cal chicken and beans
Thrilled and excited to eat this delicate cuisine

Neon Blue
However, the lights of the world made me proud
In a night scene I saw a crowd
Digging for lost souls in a cloud
Their perseverance that made me say wow

 New York  Blue
In a meeting of the sports minds
With a running track colored grind
Cheering my heart out I find
We are all the same inclined

Sapphire Blue
But then I marvel at the quartz that shimmers
The rare night sky that blinks in glimmer
In that we miss the moon’s light get dimmer
And fade away in the brief light skimmer

Periwinkle
In the midst of my periwinkle haze
Of blue evanescence and blood red maze
I have to be careful and tread across Broadway
Not be disappointed yet without dismay

Cerulean Blue
As I look to the sky
With its light blue try
At teasing our imaginations that fly
While inducing flights that taste like blueberry pie

Maya Blue
Lest I not forget the blue pigment of thee
Of ancient forefathers who cemented on me
Reminding me on this side of the ocean and decree
That we are not the only fishes in the sea

But my favorite blue
When life happens to me and you
Long lasting and Tried but true
Is a friend dedicated and true blue
