Ever

Ever think
Why it takes so long
To build a relationship
And a few moments
To lose one

So difficult to nurture a dreams
So easy to shatter one
So much courage
To make a promise
And a little
Not to keep one
So hard to make a beginning
So less to retreat
Nothing at all to question
What is right
And a lifetime
To answer
What could be

Ever asked
Why we stay apart
When we crave for togetherness
Whey we keep quite
When we want to tell everything
Why we build houses
When we want to stay home
Why we ignore those who matter
When all we desire is care
Why we aspire to carve a niche
When all we need is walking together
Why do we run
When we hope to rest
Why do we divide time
When we need time to be together
Why we bind ourselves
When all we fathom is being free

Ever wondered
What paints the sky blue
What makes the colour of life fade
What warms the day
What chill the line nights
What makes the river flow
What make the mountains stand still
What makes the flowers bloom
What makes the desert so bold
What makes the greenery so shy
What makes earth encircle sun
What forces them apart
What makes heavenly bodies go away
What binds them forever
What scares one (you) from being a friend
What makes one (me) long to walk hand in hand (with you)

Ever felt
The need to reckon
The need to forget
The need to grow (past)
The need to go back (in time)
The need to laugh (aloud)
The need to cry (alone)
The need to be (someone)
The need to bridge (the gaps)
The need to distance (yourself/oneself)
The need to rise (to someone)
The need to fall (for one)
The need to free (yourself)
The need to surrender (to someone)
To love
To be loved

All that we never think
All that we never ask
All that we never wonder (about)
All that we never feel
Is there for us
Yet we fail ourselves
Limit our existence
Refuse to be drawn out

Shed your inhibitions
And explore the universe
Hold a hand
And let go
‘coz my friend
A journey to unknown
Is worth
More than
A destiny known.
