It's A Dirty War

Francine Kramer 1952 (Massachusetts)

It's a diirty war that's rough and mean  I would hate to see what you have seen Such nice men like you have to see that crud That dirt and mud and splatters of blood You have limited water for once in a while and you men up there hardly ever smile You walk and walk till you find your man If you don't have guns you use your hands You dig your hole so the enemy can't see but some aren't as lucky as others can be Dig your hole deep hon I'm praying real hard and I hope and pray that God will guard Haven't people heard Though Shalt Not Kill Why in heavens name do they do it still
