My Shadow Side

Telling the truth isn't he greatest  strength

See the light but wandering through the dark

Shadow saying change is hard

My mind knows is the right path

Love I have seen

Heart runs from it

Pain and struggle is all I know

Better times ahead

Do I wait

Procrastinating time, my flesh takes over

Mind over matter I can do

Overcame many battles

Battles that ran through my vein like new blood

We been together for decades now

I want a divorce,it begs me back

Feeling like it can't live without  me

I always go back

Consuming my heart

I fall back in love

Today it told me it loves me

The soul speaks same ole lies

Breaking people hearts just to feel secure

That is not my intention

Wild days and times we have had

Fun at the moment but loneliness  at night

Alcohol was our closest friend

Only came around when there was sorrow

chaotic mind,empty heart all it brings

Got the courage to depart

Many people struggle just like I am

This is my poem to you

Let it go you'll be okay
