Garden State

Strolling the planks and watching the crowds
while seagulls and pigeons fight under foot
Miss America, jitney’s and Baltimore grill
Busses maneuver as drivers bark out the stops
Baltic, States and Pacific Avenues
Monopoly was here before it was in a box
Mr. peanut and Frailanger’s are enjoyed by all
You can hear the waves crashing on the shore
On Kentucky Avenue you can hear 0-64
Followed by screeches of BINGO galore
As if it were yesterday you still can recall
Trollies, jitneys and tricycle carts
The Ferris wheels and side shows, cotton candy for all
bells submerge and horses jump, Light houses guide the way
If you’re hungry, go to the White House but not in DC.
Duck town, Lower Chelsea, Ventnor and the inlet
All this and more you can see at the shore
New Jersey…….
