Epiphany

You’re not the center of the universe
Are the words I always heard
So that was the very motto
I lived by word for word.

Thinking my thoughts didn’t matter
Nor the words that I said
So much second guessing
Of the ideas i had in my head

I will never be good enough
So small no one will see
So why take extra effort
If no one will notice me

Fast forward into my future
After heartache and bottled abuse
Came ringing in those words
About the universe, was it true?

No one seemed to notice
The pain I beared but me
Then what actually happened
Was i had an epiphany

I am the center of My universe
Which the world revolves around that
The queen of my very own world
Upon that throne, I sat

From this moment on
I knew one thing to be true
No one can make my choices
Those days were now threw

No one could possibly hurt me
I now see this to be true
I am the bearer of my fortune
I’m in control, not you

Try and take my crown
Hurt me if you want
If you do me wrong and lose my heart
It’s your dreams I will haunt

I’m changed thanks to the pain
It’s made me who I am today
So give me fuel to build an empire
I grow stronger every day!
