As I sat beside you and watched you in pain
I knew my life would forever be changed
The rest of my days I will live without you
Seems right now so impossible to do
I made you a promise to always be strong
And I’m doing my best to just hang on
But times are so hard for me to face
I feel so alone now and all out of place
The light in my life has been taken away
Your body was tired and you just couldn’t stay
I know in my head this all is true
But my heart can’t accept the loss of you

It’s so overwhelming and stops my heart
