Redondo's My Dream Place

Sheila M Clavo 1958 (Hospital)

Birds with red feathers flying in the air
Such a lovely blue sky up there
Clouds fluffy and white with a
Golden yellow sun shining bright
Boats big & small docked by the landing
People of all colors on the pier standing
Extended from their arms, green fishing poles
His black shoes turned up showing many holes
Women watching the waves in purple bikinis
While the vendor sells deep fried zucchini
Guys & girls on surf boards who are in the ocean
Are ducking the waves with lots of emotion
Lots of friendly smiles on everyone's face
Pets running & jumping all over the place
Uncle in his car reading the race pamphlet
So many kids in the game room they just can't fit
One of the places on the beach for people to dine
Has an old lady in tan shorts sipping her wine
With two guys telling her she's fine

About this poem

My Son who's also a known Poet on poetry.com sadly passed a few years ago. We were very close. He loved & respected as well as helped everyone. He did very well in school, played instruments, modeled, and loved writing. We use to go on vacations every summer. Mainly His family on both sides who lives in California. There's so many different places & things to do it's hard to say you've had enough. There was restaurants, beaches, ranches, shopping, boating, and just traveling to see new places. As long as he did well in school I saw no reason why he shouldn't be rewarded. We were able to afford it & he stated away from trouble. His dad nor I minded so I kept booking trips during the spring to depart on the following summers. We had so many wonderful times & found out so much about our family on both sides. This trip was one he felt he needed a tattoo but I refused & saw a guy pressing copies of tattoos in people so I approved. It's our last trip prior to His passing & it was just as Wonderful as all the rest. I wrote this poem when we returned home.

Sheila M Clavo

Southern Lady, Poet, disabled, whose teachers pushed me to write in elementary school. I didn't have confidence so I was a Girl Scout, volunteered, and had a lot of Barbie Dolls as well as an Easy Bake Oven. I didn't stop writing. People kept being supportive with my work. Suddenly I found myself writing on s regular basis. In no time at all I was honored all around as a Poet. It's been about 50years. I've enjoyed every step in the process.  more…
