Contribution
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
My contribution to humanity,
In the way that I can...
To do to participate as a poet/writer,
Is a blessing and an honor.
For anyone to assume,
This is my intention to obtain attention.
Or that I feel obligated to appease anyone,
Done to seek approval and acceptance.
I can only say this,
This gift I have I received from God.
And the choosing of it?
I don't remember it,
Of one of many options from which to pick.
However...
I do remember being attracted consciously,
For using it as a means to be understood.
But it was never my intent,
To feel obligated to explain...
My observations as I saw them.
As a means to find myself defending,
My feelings to write how I felt...
To offend someone else,
Who could not accept my point of view.
My life to live whatever this is to experience,
Is an adventure of an experiment created...
By some entity with an intelligence,
Too advance to disrespect.
And anyone with a consciousness,
Awakened enough to be enlightened.
Should begin to appreciate to not perceive,
A taking for granted...
How their gifts to get are not just blessings.
But also tools to be used to communicate,
Messages to create and make...
The Earth a better place to live.
And yet...
Some are taught to teach it to believe,
A power to have it...
Through creating division and lies to tell,
Is a message to send received as delivered.
Benefits,
The diminishing to fade...
Their sickened to fiction deluded truths!
Produced from a contribution,
Of minds in denial there is a God.
But on battlefields worldwide,
Protecting to defend their 'Christian' values!
What message is that sent.
And meant understood to comprehend?
As a contribution!
For what purpose?
And to what end for who?
To accept and believe beneficial.
