Avalanche Of Lies

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Caught up breathless.
In the avalanche of lies.
Although minted fresh is the breath,
Of those corrupted living lives of fraud.
Accustomed to a smothering up deception.
And anointing the ones appointed,
As leaders familiar with quick disguises.
To lead those bat blind,
Down below the cracks and crevices.
Until the smell of Hell has been reached.
Where there they find their comfort.

And...
Re-surface.
They will.
As chameleons are known to do.
With a different appearance.
Selling B.S. to sell it sold.
In an assortment of fragrances.
Too alluring.
Too scent addicting to refuse,
The attracting captivation.
Or deny the compelling attraction.

'This one here?
What is it?
I can't move away from it.'

'That one we call 'TOO LATE!'

'TOO LATE?
That's funny.
Too late for what?'

'Too late to be made a fool.
To then think of it as funny.'

'Well...
One thing I know,
It works.
How much?'

'That small bottle?
That one is $5.'

'Smells nice.
I'll take it.'

'Great.
And...
Here is the contract agreement!'

'Whoa! Say what?'

'That one?
Is $5 Per month  for three years.
And a settlement charge of $50,000.00...
For your own franchise.
Located wherever you desire.
Uh...are you okay?
Your mind?
It seems to be somewhere else.
Are you OKAY?
Whew...
You scared me.
I thought you were gone like the others.'

'The others?
What are you talking about?'

'You see...
What always appears to be easy to accept.
Can mess your mind up.
Now, take for example.
Hypothetically, of course.
A thief who deceives lies and frauds.
Dresses to impress.
And is clearly narcissistic.
Self obsessed and lets this known.
Publicly to address this.
And then,
Like the master of ceremonies...
At a carnival says,
'GET YOUR B.S. HERE.
TOO ADDICTING TO REFUSE.
BUT NEVER TOO LATE IS IT EVER,
TO LEAVE IT WHERE IT IS AND WALK AWAY!'

'So...
What are you saying to me?'

'Fools deny they are fools.
No matter who says what to them.
To repeatedly prove to them,
They are stupid.
They want evidence of it produced.
And...
When that evidence is produced?
TOO LATE it is for them to refuse or deny,
They are dummies.
Now...
Are you going to sign and agree,
To 'our' arrangement?
Or...
Would you rather prefer,
To be conveniently among the missing?'

'This is evil.
What you are doing is wicked!'

'Look.
Don't ever offend me,
By comparing me to some lowlife...
Politician.
Did I disrespect you like that?'

'I...
Don't know that yet.
What are my odds if my preference,
Would be...
To write a nice testimonial.
About the services you offer.
With my recommendation of 'TOO LATE'!
Giving it 5 stars?
Would that be good enough,
To barter for my freedom?
And an opportunity to change my underwear?
