Horror & Vampire Haiku Set #005

ALMOST MEN HUNTING (18/05/2021)
Almost men hunting
For living human women,
To claim as their own.

ALMOST-PEOPLE SUCK (18/05/2021)
Almost people suck
Living essence from humans,
Leaving nothing good.

ALMOST-PEOPLE TRAVEL (18/05/2021)
Almost-people travel
Near dark lonely highways,
Hidden from traffic.

APPROACHING FAST (17/05/2021)
Alien fiends crossing
The endless vacuum of space,
Approaching Earth fast.

BAT-WINGED MONSTERS SCREECH (17/05/2021)
Bat-winged monsters screech
Their radar detects movement,
Soon the fiends will feed.

BETWEEN GALAXIES (17/05/2021)
The vacuum of space
Between diff'rent galaxies,
Evil aliens cross.

BLASTED LANDSCAPES (18/05/2021)
Blasted landscapes
Grey and bleak like desert plains,
No life remaining now.

CLOVEN-HOOFED FIEND (17/05/2021)
A cloven-hoofed fiend
Enters a clearing where
Foolish people blaspheme.

THE DARK INHERITANCE
Dark inheritance:
Blood tainted by ancestors,
Makes you walk the night.

DARKNESS IS KIND
Darkness is kind
To the creatures of the night,
Who fear the bright sunlight.

DARK SHADOWS CALLING
Dark shadows beckon:
Vampires in the night; you can’t
Resist their calling.

FABLED BEASTS (17/05/2021)
Awful fabled beasts live
Upon a frozen mountain peak,
Climbers soon to die.

HOWLING WINDS OF DEATH (17/05/2021)
Tormented by shrieks
Howling winds that bring death,
Sweeping all life away.

ICY WATERWAYS (17/05/2021)
Icy waterways
Leading to a frozen Hell,
Human life now gone.

JAGGED OUTCROPS (17/05/2021)
Jagged outcrops house
Unimaginable horrors
Things straight from Hell.

NIGHT BLACK CREATURES (17/05/2021)
Night black creatures lurk
Just beyond your range of sight,
Closing for the kill.

NIGHT BLACK SHADOWS (17/05/2021)
Night black shadows leap
Out toward the unprepared,
Tear them limb from limb.

NIGHT'S SATINY SHADES (17/05/2021)
Night's satiny shades
Blind you to the dangers,
Lurking just out of sight.

PISCINE MONSTERS (17/05/2021)
Piscine monsters surface
Slaughtering lost swimmers,
Then dive back below.

PITCH BLACK FIGURES (17/05/2021)
Pitch black figures creep
Out of the ebony wastes,
Needing soon to feed.

SOMETHING OUT OF HELL (17/05/2021)
Something out of Hell
Horned and exhaling fire
Not remotely human.

SYMPHONY OF DESTRUCTION (17/05/2021)
Discordant jangling
Symphony of destruction,
Slowly warming up.

UNDEAD TEMPTRESSES (16/05/2021)
Night veils covering
Lethal undead temptresses
Stalking living men.

VILE IMAGES (17/05/2021)
Eerie shadows fall
Across unsuspecting faces,
Showing vile images.

DARK WINGS OVERHEAD
Dark wings overhead
Block out the sun and cast,
Fearful shadows below.

DAWN OF THE VAMPIRE
When humans bed down
Others wake in deep crypts,
And hunt for hot, fresh blood.

DEATH STREET
Pale skinned monsters lurk
In the basement of a house,
In a nameless street.

DEEP IN SUNKEN CRYPTS (II)(04/11/2010)
Deep in sunken crypts
Ancient creatures stirring,
Hoping soon to feast.

DELIGHT
Starving mouths feeding
From brutally severed throats,
Gurgling from delight.

DEMON BABIES
Demon babies feed
From shattered arteries,
Supping crimson milk.

THE DEMON CHILDREN (I)
Young children sleep in
Their coffins by day, but then
Lust for blood by night.

DEMONS FEASTING
Dreaming of terrors
You awake to find demons,
Feasting upon you.

DEMONS IN BURIAL GROUNDS
Demons in burial grounds,
Creep up on the mourners,
Eager for a feed.

DEMONS REACHING
Dark shadows lengthen
As demons in the gloom,
Reach out for the living.

THE DEVIL’S INHERITANCE
Lurking in shadows,
Questing after blood:
The Devil’s inheritance.

DREAMING OF VAMPIRES
Dreaming of vampires
Night after night, year after year
Without respite.

DRIVING THE POINT HOME
A dour figure stands
Near an open casket, holding
A hawthorn stake.

DUNGEON OF DEATH
A dungeon of death
Houses sallow-faced corpses,
Which rise again at dusk.

THE EMERGENCE
Graveyard workers scream
As coffins break open,
The living dead emerge.

THE ENERGY VAMPIRES
Even the ones you love
Sap your strength and health,
Just like vampires of old.

EVIL AFTER MIDNIGHT
Loathsome creatures hunt
Throughout the streets and alleys,
Seeking human prey.

EVIL APPROACHES
Footsteps in the hall
Wingbeats in the darkness,
Danger drawing nearer.

EVIL BAT-WINGED FIENDS
Evil bat-winged fiends
Lurking in old graveyards,
Leap out at the living.

THE METAMORPHOSIS
Humans change to bats
Then swoop in through your window,
Landing on your neck.

THE MIDNIGHT CALLER
Blood seeps from wounds
Jugulars ripped asunder,
By a midnight caller.

MONSTERS FEAST
Blood drips from gashes
Torn by feasting monsters,
Upon tender young throats.

NECTAR
Fangs glisten from lust
Longing to taste the nectar,
Of tender, young throats.

NIGHT FLYERS
Death stalks ’cross the land
Evil flying on batwings;
Sharp fangs sinking deep.

NIGHT HORRORS (III)
Fiends with large, black wings
And gloving dark red eyes,
Who thirst for human blood.

NIGHT WALKERS
Evil creatures walk
Through the dark night streets,
Of a village lost to fear.

NON-REFLECTIVE MIRRORS
Non-reflective mirrors
Give a vital warning:
Vampires in the room.

ON THE BRINK OF TERROR
Terror welling up
Images of caped strangers,
Lurking near your room.

PALE, GRISLY CADAVERS
Grisly cadavers
Pale from lack of blood,
After vampires have feasted.

PALE-SKINNED MONSTERS
Pale skinned monsters lurk
In shadows, waiting nearby
Reaching out for prey.
