Others wake in deep crypts,
And hunt for hot, fresh blood.

In the basement of a house,
In a nameless street.

From shattered arteries,
Supping crimson milk.

Their coffins by day, but then
Lust for blood by night.

You awake to find demons,
Feasting upon you.

Creep up on the mourners,
Eager for a feed.

As demons in the gloom,
Reach out for the living.

Lurking in shadows,
Questing after blood:
The Devil’s inheritance.

Night after night, year after year
Without respite.

Near an open casket, holding
A hawthorn stake.

As coffins break open,
The living dead emerge.

Through the dark night streets,
Of a village lost to fear.

Give a vital warning:
Vampires in the room.

Images of caped strangers,
Lurking near your room.

Grisly cadavers
Pale from lack of blood,
After vampires have feasted.

Pale skinned monsters lurk
In shadows, waiting nearby
Reaching out for prey.
