Analysis of A Table between Me and You
Kaushik Ghosh 1979 (Calcutta)
Snow outside, neon light
And a table between me and you.
Beneath our bosoms, our hearts fight
Stands the table between me and you
We talked business. Smile in face
And our eyes did a bit of talking too
Snacks and coffee, cozy place
And the table between me and you
Winter evening turning cold
Those lost moments between me and you,
Smokey coffee have turned old
On the table between me and you
The darkness outside reminds me time
I felt content. Do you too?
A time well spent, a time sublime
With a table between me and you
Our fingers touched, it was time to go
Time to say goodbye too
Some words we spoke, some we let go
Across the table between me and you
