Sonnet I

Kaushik Ghosh 1979 (Calcutta)

So let us try to be friends once again
Burying fully what you have in your mind
And I have in mine, let us both regain
The strength to be friends and a way to find
That soothe this burning pain that you and me
Both feel and nurse in our heart and in mind
In the due course of the day and hours wee
The pain and the distance make me remind
Of you. Wonder, if you think of me too
-In the midst of a schedule too errant
And while meeting people – as much I do
May your heart gain solace and heaven grant

All that you have ever prayed for, in your
Life- today or may be in days of yore
