Analysis of Everyday

Eugenia Weldy 1980 (Jackson,Ms)

Seems like everyday
it’s the same routine
You walk through the door
After a Hard days work
No kiss hello not even a hug
It’s alright I’m not mad
Like I was before.
See the thing  is
I’ve become numb....
I know it’s just a matter of time
Before you start in on me!
I can tell you the things you’ll say
Repeat every word line by line!
No maybe I don’t eat right,
That’s what you’ll say
But I’m the skinniest one
But you talk about fat people
Like broadcasting the morning news
Even if it’s our daughter or son
Maybe this house isn’t the cleanest
But staying one top of it
Requires constant review
But any doing anything
After u come through the door
Starts a revolutionary war!
If I say anything to you
Just trying to talk then
I’m arguing, Angry or fighting
That’s what u say!
Bc my brain should
only Think like yours
If I don’t operate like you operate
I’m completely wrong
Daily word bashing
Emotional beatdown
Has pushed me away
