Analysis of Who Am I

Catapulted down, from the dimensions of His Mind
Released into a finite existence governed by time
Born vulnerable and fragile , an innocenct child
As an explorer, ready to search this endless paradigm,
Who am I?

I grew a little, a toddler running and dashing into things
Before I knew it, it was off to kindergarten for me
Peaked in highschool, fame and popularity
Then off to college, to gain sensibility
But still the question lingered, who am I?

Married the love of my life, the beat of my heart, the wind beneath my wings
Greatest gift of my life, my treasure, my world, are my 2 darlings
A Nurse by profession, now starts my great service to humanity
Which turned out to be a dead end job, earning a dead end salary
Now the question echoes even stronger, Who am I?

Gosh, has it been 30 years already?, still finding my feet
35 years expires, and it feels like im stuck in a hamster wheel
Is this all there is, I mean, is this the deal?
Does someone have the answer, if you do, please tell me,
Age old dark friend, a constant reminder, Who am I?

The 'darlings' all grown up and ready to leave the nest
Then within a twinkle, college graduates, my boys became men
Recycling the sound of little pitter patter feet once again
My little joys, my beautiful little fairies, 'Grandmum', they call me
Such fullness, splendour and joy, But still the question pounds, Who am I?

Yesterday I laid my life partner to rest, goodbye my love, my life, my all
The boys are now gone abroad, I havent seen my darlings in years
Each one to their own race, different paths, different destinies
Im the one who taught them to spread their wings and fly, so why do I feel so empty
Now just an old whisper, yet still no answer, Who am I

Alone in my apartment, 80th birthday cake glowing in front of me
My mind wandered off as I gaze out the glass, to reminisce
To grasp the actual meaning of this life gone past, in a flash, in a blink, in a moment
Now I understand why He says, 'A thousand years is likened to one day'
I came, I conquered, I loved, I laughed, I cried, I felt, I touched, I beheld sights
Yet no-one ever heard my inner-most thoughts, Who am I?

I died at 9 0 clock this morning at my old age home
There were no families nor friends around,
At 08.55 I heard a cold unfamiliar voice, 'In the Name of The Father, Son and Holy Ghost'
A Priest, performing the last rights
Any last words my dear?, he waited as I tried very hard to get my lips to muster up the sound
Then eventually, with my last breath, I whispered, Who was I?
