Analysis of Empty
Charlene Delfin 1990 (Mandaluyong City)
Is it a children's bedroom?
Is there a forest somewhere?
Was it a Kinder classroom?
Or did someone try to care
And then forgot or just left?
'Cause the more that I reflect
The more I become lost
In every memory's ghost.
Maybe we should put a shelf
Against the left wall, and then
Find a color for yourself.
Something bright that can brighten
The nooks, crannies and shadows.
Paint two walls like in the shows
For an illusion of space.
Let us beautify this place.
Place this here and put that there,
Place something everywhere.
May we never stop and stare.
Because this room's unsettling.
There's an imbalance that bends,
An incompleteness growing.
The sorrowful vibe it sends
Fills the mind with deep worry.
Let's add a sofa and rug,
Cats to play in morning fog,
Books to read on rainy days,
And music from Junes to Mays.
