Tapat Ko, Linis Ko

Right after the sunrise can spark,

She was walking to the sidewalk.

Armed with a broom, she will soon start

Sweeping and sweeping on the walk,

And all the small debris will dart

From left to right with every stalk.

Sweeping the sidewalk and below,

Sweeping the early morning trash,

Sweeping the dead leaves that winds blow,

But not careless and not so rash.

On dust beneath, row upon row.

Leaving lines of the broom on the soil,

So the garbage can't ever spoil

Where no snakes can sleep, grow, and coil.

Right after sunrise, I take it,

The old but powerful school broom.

Collecting the desks where they sit.

Sweeping, cleaning the whole classroom.

Before teachers and classmates meet,

I finish and return the broom.
