Analysis of Monetary Musings

Kyle Kennedy 1988 (Athlone)

I am rich but not of money,
Greed and power or milk and honey?
Confused by this world of mine
Not sure if I should laugh or cry.
A selfie will define my generation,
Blindly abiding by their legislation.

To work is to live, or so they say,
Drink ale, talk of sport and celebrity.
Gather glittering goods with earned tokens of pleasure.
Do not avert ones gaze,
I-phone 12 and bills to be paid.

I require little in order to prosper,
Scrutiny ensues "Your dreams are lackluster!"
A piece of land, seeded with crop,
fresh air, clean water that's not a lot;
To ask for these things is quite absurd
" I bet that guy is as high as a bird!'
Truth be told the latter is true,
But who is winning? Me or you?
